Welcome to jellies! - I'm really happy you stopped by!

My name is Nat and I created jellies! in 2025. I’ve always loved creative pastimes and have made charms and jewellery for friends for years but when I became ill with poor mental health, beading became more of a lifeline.

I have had mental health illnesses since childhood but self-imposed stigma compelled me to keep this hidden. I was too ashamed to tell friends and loved ones the depth of my illness and inevitably this repression, coupled with unresolved trauma, made me seriously ill in 2023. For two years I struggled to work, socialise and make plans for the future. At times I couldn't even speak to anyone. I would dread waking up, incapacitated at the thought of facing another day.

But even in the worst times, I strongly wanted to get well. I believed there was a better life for me.

I finally sought help, embarking on what would turn out to be a mammoth recovery journey. I participated in a great deal of therapy, both individually and as part of a group. For me receiving EMDR therapy was hugely helpful. I was given new medication which was monitored by my psychiatrist and adjusted every few weeks. I was also prescribed medicine to tackle the insomnia which has stopped me from sleeping through the night for nearly twenty years. Even with constant effort from myself and the professionals treating me, getting well took far longer than I could have imagined. I needed significant and prolonged clinical intervention over thousands of hours and I received this only because I have health insurance courtesy of my husband’s job. I am acutely aware that this is a huge privilege.

Before this, I tried to get help via the NHS for over a decade. I made several trips to my GP, receiving firstly six sessions of CBT, then a prescription for Sertraline, and finally six sessions of talking therapy. That's one medication and twelve hours of support - approximately an hour for every year I had been deeply unwell.

This is not to denigrate the NHS which is stretched beyond capacity, but rather to notice the distance in the care I received. Fast and appropriate treatment for mental health illnesses is rarely available through the NHS. Additionally, talking about these illnesses still has a sense of stigma attached. Because of this I believe charities which offer support are absolutely essential, and indeed are often the only lifeline for people in crisis.

And so, in 2025 I created and sold a collection of bag charms under the name Fifi & Bo with an aim to raise money for mental health charities, as well as giving myself a sense of purpose and pride. These charms, and hundreds of others, sold in stores like Break Out, Pop Up Club, and at markets including the renowned Salad Days.

In 2026 Fifi & Bo turned one and I rebranded it into the business you see today, choosing the name jellies! to reflect the fun, colour and joy I want to keep in the forefront of my life. If this resonates with you – welcome to a world of whimsy!

The original collection of charms is long gone but jellies! remains and grows every day! I’m continuously experimenting with designs and working hard to improve our offering, which now includes beaded jewellery as well as charms. I’ve updated and customised many of the parts which go into the finished product and have set up a reliable supply chain for good quality fixtures to use as a base for my designs. I still spend hours in bead shops wherever I go and make everything just for you from my home in London. Most importantly, I am healthy and happy and getting stronger every day.

What hasn't changed is that jellies! still donates a portion of profits from every sale to mental health charities in the UK. I also passionately and loudly advocate for support and awareness about mental health illnesses through this platform.

Thank you so much for joining me on the jellies! journey. Let's see what's around the corner together <3
